In 2005, Wesleyan purchased WebCT CE 6. Blackboard then merged with WebCT and so WebCT CE 6 is now Blackboard Learning System CE Enterprise License 6, or CE 6 for short.
CE 6 is the latest in Blackboard's Campus Edition line. It has an enterprise level "big brother", Blackboard Vista 4. Wesleyan choose CE 6, rather than Vista 4 because CE 6 is designed for small campus colleges, just like Wesleyan.
Every semester, course sections are automatically created in Blackboard that correspond to each class being taught at Wesleyan. Faculty and students are automatically associated with the appropriate course sections.
To use Blackboard at Wesleyan, faculty simply logon using their username and password. If you do not know your username and password, please contact Cathy Locks.
