The First Time

I remember,
Forced against my will
And he looked at me
With that conniving smile
No one to save me
Mother nowhere to protect me
And he took advantage of me
Drilling, tightening and pulling
Torture with wires and glue
Left a bitter taste in my mouth.
I hurt at first
But then I was numb
It felt like a dream
-       a really bad one
And all he said was,
“Smile”,
When he was done
With my braces.
