Apple at Wesleyan

If you know where to look, you can find some very, very old Apple computers hiding under tables at Wesleyan.

In 1984, Apple came out with a GUI (Graphical User Interface) and a new computer, the Macintosh, an all in one machine with a 9" monitor. Wesleyan pioneered computers in higher education by being one of the first schools to require all students to have a personal computer and chose Macs for the job.

Today, Wesleyan is primarily a Windows campus running on Dell computers.

Most of the operating Macs at Wesleyan today are to be found in the Communications office and the Art Department, reflecting Mac's continued role in print and graphics media in the world at large.
