The Wesleyan College Honors Program offers advanced students the opportunity to take part in special seminars and engage in independent research, culminating in the completion of a thesis in the students senior year. Students completing the program show exceptional academic ability and are well prepared for the rigors of graduate study.
The major goals of the Wesleyan College Honors Program are as follows:
- To intensify the educational experience for those students of exceptional intellectual ability and initiative;
- To reward and encourage academic excellence by providing a stimulating environment through seminars and extracurricular experiences; and
- To encourage advanced study and research under the direction of or in participation with selected faculty.
Eligible students opting not to participate in the colleges Honors Program may still elect to apply for departmental honors, described in the departmental honors section of this site.
