Biography

Robert Fieldsteel’s plays have been produced in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. For Crazy Drunk, he received the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Best World Premiere Play and the Backstage West Garland Award for Playwriting.  With Jan Lewis he has co-written three plays produced at Wesleyan: Medea/Myth, A Point in the Heart, and Witches of the Here and Now.

Also an L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award-winning actor, he has guest-starred on such hit t.v. shows as Designing Women, Wings, Married With Children, Party of Five, The Parkers and Fame and acted in films for such directors as John Cassavetes and Sidney Lumet. He has also worked extensively in commercials and voiceovers, including a five-year campaign for Samsonite luggage and narration for Disney’s Epcot Center.

He has been an adjunct professor at the American Jewish University and guest artist/lecturer at the University of Southern California, UCLA, Loyola Marymount University, Occidental College and Cypress College. He also ran the playwriting program at L.A.’s renowned Virginia Avenue Project, which pairs theatre professionals with at-risk youth.
