Equipment Acquired for Research and Teaching

 

2004                Animal cages acquired from Kent State University, Department of Psychology for animal research at Bridgewater College.  The approximate acquisition value of the equipment was $8,000.00.

 

2000                Equipment Donation from Becton-Dickinson Technologies: Through contacts made through Dr. Wanda Schroeder, Wesleyan Department of Biology. Acquisition and transportation of the equipment by Dr. James Rowan and Dr. Barry Rhoades.  Acquisition value - Approximately $45,000.

 

1996                Equipment Loan From NIH:  Through contacts with the NIH, equipment was acquired from the surplus warehouse in Maryland.  Computer and scientific equipment was acquired for used in the psychology, biology, and chemistry labs at Wesleyan College.  The acquisition value (what it cost NIH to originally purchase the equipment) for the equipment on permanent loan from NIH is $62,265.00.

 

1995                During the spring semester of 1995, developed the materials to be used in the laboratory section of the Learning and Memory course (Psy 305) at Wesleyan College.  Also acquired the equipment that will be used in the laboratory from donations from Kent State University's Animal Research Facility which consisted of 37 animal cages with water bottles (acquisition value - approximately $3000.00).

 

1994                During the course of the fall semester, made contacts with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation which resulted in the acquisition of a functional autoclave for use in the Wesleyan College Biology Department (acquisition value - approximately $2000.00). 

 

1993                Equipment was acquired from Kent State University, Department of Psychology for animal research at Wesleyan College (animal cages, plexiglass, computer components, operant chambers, power supplies, noise generators, software, monitors, etc...).  The approximate acquisition value of the equipment was $11,000.00.
